A Summer of Fun at The Oval Bandstand

By Helen Pitman, GRASS committee member

The summer of 2021 has a lot to live up to since COVID affected many people’s summer holidays last year. GRASS is thrilled to announce a line-up of community events to be held at The Oval Bandstand throughout the summer.

From the well-loved Cliftonville Games and Cliftonville Outdoor Cinema, to the new Summer Sunday’s concerts, The Oval will see a packed season of fun events for the whole community.

outdoor cinemaCliftonville Outdoor Cinema – Cinema dates have just been announced, with Romeo + Juliet showing first on 12th June, and Black Panther wrapping up the season on 11th September.

Oval Summer Sundays – A popular season of free summer concerts is being planned for 2021, which will allow people to enjoy an afternoon of live music and entertainment while relaxing with friends and family. The revived annual tradition will see the historic bandstand brought to life with music and entertainment for all tastes.

Cliftonville Games – After the success of the Cliftonville Games 2019 with nearly 5,000 people in attendance, and the unfortunate cancellation in 2020 due to COVID, we are looking forward to the Cliftonville Games in 2021. Open to everyone, our community event will have arts, crafts, street food stalls and a range of fun activities and games for all.

Cliftonville Farmers Market – The iconic farmers market, run by the Cliftonville Residents Association, will continue. The monthly market celebrates its 20th anniversary in September 2021!
